Photography Books
Thrown Bodies is a photo book that explores the world of aggressive roller skating—a bold and creative skating style built on tricks, stunts, and expressive movement. Skaters repurpose the urban landscape into a playground, turning stairs, rails, and ramps into opportunities for expression.
Featuring 40+ full-color photographs, this book captures moments of motion, risk, and joy. It's a tribute to the skaters who fall, get back up, and keep pushing what’s possible on wheels.
Chicago Knockouts
Chicago Knockouts is a photography book by Lenny Gilmore documenting the intensity, athleticism, and character of Chicago’s roller derby community. Blending high-impact action sports imagery with focused portraiture, the book captures both the speed of competition and the individuality of the athletes who power it.
Photographed during the 2025 season, the work moves between fast-paced game moments and composed portraits, revealing a sport built on strategy, physicality, and performance. The result is a study in movement, identity, and team dynamics within one of Chicago’s most dynamic athletic communities.

If You Roller Skated the World is a children’s picture book that invites young readers to imagine what might happen if they laced up their skates and rolled across the globe. Through playful rhyme and sweeping scenes, the story turns continents, cities, and natural wonders into a boundless skating adventure.
Filled with vibrant illustrations by Lady Trample and poems by Lenny Gilmore this book celebrates the thrill of seeing the world in a new way. It’s a love letter to roller skating and to our natural world.
